The comment is more offensive to me than the original transgression.
I can understand a slip up in speech—and I guess even in written word once in a while—but to put it in context, this person is vehemently anti-prop 8, pro gay rights, etc. and to blatantly deny/refuse to accept how degrading these comments are to a sizable and equally-entitled portion of the population is absolutely disgusting to me.
This insulting and hypocritical behavior is what’s truly fucking over the gay rights movement. The world isn’t black and white, but civil rights is and always has been and comments like these create a gray area where one should not be. You can’t be pro-equality and echo homophobic language. It does not work that way.
